I became a Unitarian in the mid-50s when my mother, looking for something different than her Baptist upbringing, decided that Adlai Stevenson's religion was good enough for her growing family. So, that began my lifelong identification as a Unitarian. Since 1979, I have attended the First Unitarian Universalist Church of San Diego where I'm often a featured vocalist. We started our church's Gay Lesbian Outreach program in the early 80s, following a very successful Gay-Straight Religious Education program starting in 1978.
Our church has hosted two Continental Conventions for Interweave (1986, 1996).
I have been a teacher, a swim coach, a salesperson, a marketing professional, and I still freelance in marketing. I just released my third album. www.chrishassett.com
