AWARD RECIPIENTS

Susan Gore is the recipient of the 2015 Mark DeWolfe Award, in recognition of her significant achievements in service to the LGBTQ community both in Unitarian Universalist settings and in the wider community. Dawn Fortune is the recipient of the 2015 Interweave Sermon Award for hir sermon “Every day, we give up pieces of ourselves to live in community” and was honored and preached hir sermon at the Interweave banquet. Click here for a biography and photograph of Dawn Fortune.

INTERWEAVE SERMON AWARD

Each year, Interweave Continental recognizes the best sermon addressing LGBTQ issues that was preached to a Unitarian Universalist congregation or preached in a seminary setting during the previous year (April 1 through March 31).

The submission period for this year’s award concluded on May 10, 2015.

The recipient of the 2015 Interweave Sermon Award will receive a $250.00 prize and will be invited to deliver the winning sermon at the Interweave Continental Banquet at the Unitarian Universalist Association’s 2015 General Assembly in Portland, Oregon.

MARK DeWOLFE AWARD

Each year, Interweave Continental confers the Mark DeWolfe Award on a Unitarian Universalist who has contributed substantially to improving the lives of LGBTQ people in a Unitarian Universalist setting or in the wider community.

This award was established to honor the memory of the Reverend Mark DeWolfe, one of the first openly gay ministers in the Unitarian Universalist Association to serve a congregation.

The nomination period for this year’s Mark DeWolfe Award concluded on May 10, 2015.

The recipient of the 2015 Mark DeWolfe Award will receive a $250.00 prize and will honored at the Interweave Continental Banquet at the Unitarian Universalist Association’s 2015 General Assembly in Portland, Oregon
